In 2015 the inaugural Rotary Kruger to Canyon Cycle Tour as it was known then, was held and over R 100 000 was raised and distributed by Hoedspruit Rotary for the benefit of anti-poaching and community upliftment programmes. With an interruption for COVID, we have held seven very successful events and as the club has grown and our fundraising increases, we have been able to tackle even larger nature conservation and community projects such as providing school libraries and ablution blocks, self-help feeding schemes and community-based economic sustainability projects.
The K2C is now established as a ‘must do’ and unique event in many cyclists’ calendars and the community upliftment projects undertaken by the club have made a real difference to the lives of people and the environment.
The Rotary Club of Hoedspruit (Hoedspruit Rotary) was chartered in 2015 and its members’ efforts have already established it as a significant entity in the community through the projects and other activities undertaken by them.
The event takes place from the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve’s headquarters. Travellers have two main ways of getting here either by car or by airplane.
